Lemonade.....Get your Lemonade

Katie has been "HOT" all summer to sell lemonade (or anything for that matter) out in front of my parents house with her little posse of friends.  (Her posse consists of 2 other girls from school)  They were trying to talk my mom into it for a while and she kept putting them off saying "Sorry girls I don't have any little cups" , or "Out of lemonade another day".   They finally broke her the other day.  She not only made the lemonade for them but also let them all paint a sign and setup a little stand for them.  Katie and Shandis stuck around to sell 2 cups of lemonade and then got bored and headed down to pick up Riley (the other one of the posse).  Jr. didn't miss a beat and stepped right in with my mom to take over the stand.  He knew exactly what to do, of course, because he watched in on Max and Ruby at least a dozen times. 

When I arrived to pick up the kids Jr had just collected the monies (as he calls them) from the neighbors who cleaned him out of lemonade.  He was a hit and made $3.00 by himself.  He kept yelling "Lemonade, Lemonade" to all the people driving by and of course who could resist those baby blues!!! 

Fireworks....Taylorsville Dayz

Recently the kids and I spent an evening watching the Fireworks with my folks.  We sat on the church lawn close to their house and had a great show. (they were even better than Murray Park on the 3rd)  Jr was very facinated with them this year (instead of being scared like every other year).  Katie just kept asking a MILLION questions like all kids her age I'm sure
- Why is that one red?
- How come that one is bigger than the others?
- Why does that one sparkle like that?
and on and on.........

St. George Getaway

Can't you just hear the Tetris theme song playing now....  Went down to St. George for a quick getaway to pick up some furniture from Robyn.  Able to get it all in just barely.

Swimming Lessons

Yesterday was the first day of the swim lessons for the kids!!!  Unfortunately that means getting up an hour earlier than normal to get them to the babysitter by 8am so she can transport the bunch to their lessons in Kearns.   Ouch....  Jr was so excited in the morning he was running around in his swim suit and screaming "I'm going SWIMMING!!" Katie was none to excited about getting up an hour early (that's my girl) but eventually was in her suit and ready to roll.  By some miracle we did make it out of the house on time (yippee one day down).

Jr was a bit confused as to why we ended up at the baby sitter's house instead of the pool, but calmed down once he saw all his buddies in their swim suits loading into the car. From further reports from Julie and my mom, Jr loved his teacher and loved the class.  He even managed to con the teacher into two more times floating on his back around the pool AFTER the lesson was over.

Thunder Storm

Last night was the first night I have seen my kids in the past 5 days. Jr was so worn out from playing at Uncle Mike's house that he was asleep before I could even lay down with him. The thunder and lightning woke him up around 3am.  He came up to sleep with me as he was scared.  He has the uncanny ability to wake up 2 minutes before the alarm goes off....He woke up asking for chocolate milk and as I was getting him a fresh cup...my alarm went off.  I have been using my phone alarm lately but it sounds like crickets.  Standing in the kitchen half awake I hear a panic cry from Jr.  "Mom, Mom...there is bugs in your bed!!!!"

Needless to say he was WIDE awake after that!!!!

New Beginnings...

Well all in final in the divorce front.  James is moved into his new "Daddy House" as Jr calls it and I am putting back MY house a little at a time.  It has been a good transition for all of us and here's to new beginnings...whatever those may bring.

Quilts, Etc.

Stopped by for a minute the other day.  It has been years since I was in this shop.  I did not buy anything but it has a really cute selection of fabrics (of course).  Anyway, 1 more off the shop hop list :)

April Fools!!! Again

Well it's about that time of year again...up to no good at the office today.  This was the state of the office today along with a pesky infestation of little mice.

I went on the scavenger hunt to find my chair...it is way up in the pallet racking.  It's okay though I found one that looks just like it for now :) Sorry Tom

Thimbles and Threads Quilt Shop

Well in keeping with my shop hop, Saturday my mom and I made the trek out to Thimbles and Threads in Draper.  I have not been to this shop in a long time, but somehow Jr. seemed to know exactly where they kept the candy and the trains?? (Hmm Grandma??) They are trying to clear out some fabrics (like 4 tables worth downstairs) to get ready for classes. When we were there they were down to around $2.00 per yard so if you have a project...it is worth heading out to see what you can find.

Well I think I am finally done making enough bunnies and chicks for Easter.  The holiday is fast approaching so now I just need to fill them with candy.

Pine Needles Quilt Shop

In the spirit of actually visiting all of the quilt shops on the list, (even though I have been to a few prior), I stopped in again to Pine Needles at Gardner Village. They have a new sale a day this week so would be worth stopping by if you are out and about. I picked up a few things for my next tablerunner. They are putting out some new Spring quilts and hosting the Million Pillowcase Challenge this coming Friday, March 26th.

Village Dry Goods - Brigham City

I hit one more shop from the list, Village Dry Goods in Brigham City. It was a very cute shop, kinda small, on the old main street of Brigham City. I went looking for the Abby Lane, The Bungalow Bag pattern that was shown on their website. Unfortunately they were out of the pattern, but I did manage to pick up some fabrics for another project on my list.

It is worth the drive to go and checkout.

Piper's Quilt Shop

Cute...Cute...Cute!!! This shop is so cute and a nice selection of material and yarn. They had some beautiful quilts displayed and kits available.

Daddy's Car Crash

Well what a fun couple of weeks....James was involved in an accident yesterday on his way home from work. Poor Prius we hope you get well soon :(

JR is 3!!!!

Well he (we) made it to 3 years old!!! We are in the middle of potty training (very slow going) and I did it....I cut up the Binky (his favorite friend in the world) on his birthday. He was sooooooooo angry with me. Jr. told me I had to go in "Time Out" because I had cut up his binky. It has been 4 days now and he reminds me at least once a day that I "Broke the Binky"

Katie is 8!!!

Well I cannot believe we made it to 8!! James finally let me get her ears pierced, and we had a sleepover with one of her BFF's from school. It is so hard to believe that she is getting SO BIG!!
