Viva la Vida - The Gorge, Washington

We just got back from our trip to The Gorge, Washington to see Coldplay. It is really one of the most beautiful places to see a concert. Here are some photos of the scenery and the show.

Viva la Vida-Third Time!

Just scored tickets to see Coldplay in July! The Gorge Ampitheatre in Washington...sweet. Overlooking the Columbia River gorge...outdoor concert, Chris Martin, no kids....what could be better. VIVA LA VIDA

Viva la Vida-Second Time!!

Again they put on the best show!! I was skeptical that the Energy Solutions Arena would be any good...but it was a great show. We were very close to the stage this time which made for a completely different show. I am totally addicted to LIVE music. In talking with an old co-worker of mine, he described the feeling of live shows as the "Thread". The thread that bind complete strangers together....I always thought he was just a silly old hippy, but there is some truth to his statement. Sitting in a giant arena filled with people from all over....joining in one common interest. I sat next to the cutest little boy, maybe 10 years old at the most. He was so excited to see his first concert. In front of us, a couple that had also been to the Vegas show. It is a really nice escape from reality for a couple of hours. Too loud to think about all the other thoughts running around in my head, just focused on the show.

Viva la Vida

WOW!!! That pretty much sums it up. We went to Vegas this weekend to see Coldplay in concert. It was amazing...the best concert I have seen since the last time we went to CA to see them. There is a reason the tickets are so expensive...but it sure was worth it. They are true showmen and put on an amazing show. We flew in Saturday morning and bummed around Vegas for a while before checking in at the MGM Grand. We had great food, then proceeded to the concert. It was a sold out show and the energy was amazing. Never in my life have a I been to a concert where the hundreds of people that are leaving begin singing the same song (Viva la Vida) through the halls of the casino. Off tonight to see John Mayer...he has some pretty big shoes to fill.
