U2 -360 Tour Rice Eccles Stadium

Amazing show!!!  The Fray opened for U2 at Rice Eccles Stadium on Tuesday May 24, 2011.  They were originally suppose to play June 3, 2010 but cancelled that entire half of their tour due to Bono needed emergency surgery.

The show was well worth the wait!!  Me, Mike and 50,000 of our closest friends witnesseed a truely amazing performance by U2.  They played of host of classic and new songs and the 360 degree stage was really a sight to see.

Is it really April already?

My how time flies.....I can hardly believe it is Spring Break already and Easter is right around the corner!!!  Been a busy Q1 so far, the new job is going great.  I was promoted to Living Room and Art Gallery Buyer (only the largest division...but hey who's counting).  Had my first long market trip to Greensboro, North Carolina.(yippee)  It worked out perfect for timing as the kids were traveling to Roxanne's house in Atlanta with James.  Here are some pics from both of our trips....

Changes......

Well 2011 is starting off with a bang!!!!  Started a new job on January 3rd, as an Associate Buyer at Overstock.com.  Working with some awesome people and of course, 3 ex Vandor co-workers adds to the fun (2 of which are in the same department).  I have never had such little anxiety about starting a new job in my whole life.  I think it was really time for a change for sure.  Few weeks ago (just a bit over 30 days past my start date) I was promoted to Living Room and Art Gallery Buyer!!! 

One chapter closes and a new one begins....

2010 - It's over!!

Well I find it hard to believe that another year of my life is over!  It seems more and more with each year that passes, I have to really force myself to STOP and look around at all that has changed and will change.....2010 was definitely no exception.  The year started off with James and I separating for months, then ending in divorce in the end of April.  A wave of change has been ongoing ever since that major life event.  Refinance my house, moving him out of my life after almost 10 years of marriage and making room for a fresh start.  Well a fresh start is not always as easy as it sounds on paper, comes with a lot of soul searching and heartache.  

I am sure that this wave of change is not quite over yet as on January 3rd (after over 7 years) I changed jobs.  Not sure what more change will be coming for 2011, but all I can hope is that all this is a step in the right direction.

Christmas....Really?

Is it really Christmas time again? I can hardly beleive how fast the days of December are flying by.... and how fast 2010 is disappearing.  Why is it that certain era's of your life just seem to fly by?  It gets harder and harder to remember distinct years or your life once you have kids, it all seems to blur together.

Anyway, half way through my Christmas shopping and hopefully the kids appreciate all the hard work and money that goes into this holiday.

James Riley Turns 4 Years Old !!!!

I can hardly believe how quickly the time has flown....but today Junior turned 4!!  He was so excited for his dinosaur party today he asked me all day long "When is Cameron coming over? " He helped me bake his cake this morning and was so excited to see the dinosaur plates and all the streamers for the party.

Katie's Birthday - 9 years old

Katie turned 9 years old on November 6th.  I can hardly believe it!!!!  She is complete with a new cellphone and loads of Justin Bieber shirts and stuff.  We had two of her little friends sleepover on Saturday night.  The party was complete with pizza, cupcakes, movies, grab bags and streamers.  The three of them stayed up past midnight talking and watching movies....yikes!!

Another year over for her and Jr. is turning 4 just around the corner.

Wasatch Front Shop Hop Challenge

Well I went back to one of the quilt shops on the Wasatch Front Shop Hop, Quilts Etc.  It has been quite a while since I was in this shop.  I picked up the cutest kit for a Halloween quilt/wall hanging.  I washed all the fabrics up this weekend and am excited to get it put together.

They had a really large selection of Halloween fabrics and some very cute kits ready for festive pillowcases.

Hannah is growing longer and wider now.  She just turned 12 weeks and had her second set of puppy shots on Saturday.  She has started biting and chewing everything (and everyone) in site.  Man those puppy teeth are SHARP!!! (ouch)

Mornings are the worst!!!

I am really frustrated with getting myself and the kids ready in the morning.  I just cannot comprehend why it has to be SOOOOOOOO difficult.  No matter how early I get up and how "prepared" I am ....all of turns to shit and we end up fighting with each other until we are out the door.  I feel like the worst mother ever....all I do all morning long is YELL.  Is there some point when it will become easier?

We have a Puppy!!!

Well after much heartache, headache and contimplation....the Wadsworth's have a PUPPY!!!! (and no giving back this time)  Her name is Hannah, and oh boy does she have a lovely singing voice.  She is 10 weeks old this Friday and so far a very welcome addition to the family.  We have puppy potty training class on Saturday, so will see how that goes. I trained two kids and two cats....how hard can one puppy be?

First Trip to the Dentist

Jr. had his first trip to the dentist this week.  No cavities to report and he did really well.  He is getting so BIG!!

First Day of 3rd Grade!

Well another school year starts!  I can't believe my baby is starting 3rd Grade!! (I know every mother says that at the beginning of each new year) We had the first day fashion show last night to decide what to wear and with what shoes, socks, earrings, etc.  (whew) The inevitable tummy ache this morning from all the butterflies, and amazingly enough.....we made it to school on time. (1 down....179 to go)

Jr. was cracking me up this morning....as Katie was getting dressed, I told her she had to put on her bra or a cami (I know what your thinking, but YES she needs one already :((((( ) She of course picked the bra (as I had no doubt she would) and once she had it on, Jr. started laughing his little cute butt off.  He said to her

JR: "Why you have one those booby things on?"

Katie: "Because I need it James!"

JR: "But you don't have any boobies!"

Katie: "Yes I do! They are just small ones"

Then he sat there laughing it up!!  Ahh little brothers are great.

Yonder Mountain String Band - The Depot

First Yonder show and first show at The Depot.  I love this venue almost as much as the House of Blues in Vegas ( I know I am so indecisive...and just love it all).  The layout is great and the sound was awesome.  It is a nice size and can see from pretty much any vantage point.  Yonder Mountain put on a great show!  It was a little mellow to start (which was nice) and quickly heated up the place with the second set.  I would highly recommend checking both the venue and the band out.

Keane - Las Vegas

Well I am in Love....with the House of Blues as a venue.  The sound was great and the show was even better!!!  Fran Healy (from Travis) opened on acoustic guitar and was a joy to watch.  (Anyone who knows me knows I am a total sucker for British bands of any sort).  Followed closely by Ingrid Michaelson who was wonderful.  She was witty and had some really catchy tunes (similar in style to Sara Bareilles and dare I say Sarah McLachlan).  The main attraction (for me that is) was of course the headliner Keane.  Is it any Wonder?...they put on an awesome show.  I am soooooooo glad I jumped on tickets for this as I was pretty disappointed a year ago when I missed them at Kingsbury Hall.  Show was well worth the drive...not to mention the quick vacation in Vegas. 

Stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and OMG I have not seen that many beautiful, young people converge in one place in my life.  I seriously felt like a senior citizen basking out by the ReHab pool (not to mention a few cup sizes too small and shades too white).  Nonetheless had a nice soak/swim in the HOT summer day.  I ended the day with a trip to the old part of Vegas (and cheaper section too) The Golden Nugget and Fremont Street experience.

Lemonade.....Get your Lemonade

Katie has been "HOT" all summer to sell lemonade (or anything for that matter) out in front of my parents house with her little posse of friends.  (Her posse consists of 2 other girls from school)  They were trying to talk my mom into it for a while and she kept putting them off saying "Sorry girls I don't have any little cups" , or "Out of lemonade another day".   They finally broke her the other day.  She not only made the lemonade for them but also let them all paint a sign and setup a little stand for them.  Katie and Shandis stuck around to sell 2 cups of lemonade and then got bored and headed down to pick up Riley (the other one of the posse).  Jr. didn't miss a beat and stepped right in with my mom to take over the stand.  He knew exactly what to do, of course, because he watched in on Max and Ruby at least a dozen times. 

When I arrived to pick up the kids Jr had just collected the monies (as he calls them) from the neighbors who cleaned him out of lemonade.  He was a hit and made $3.00 by himself.  He kept yelling "Lemonade, Lemonade" to all the people driving by and of course who could resist those baby blues!!! 

Fireworks....Taylorsville Dayz

Recently the kids and I spent an evening watching the Fireworks with my folks.  We sat on the church lawn close to their house and had a great show. (they were even better than Murray Park on the 3rd)  Jr was very facinated with them this year (instead of being scared like every other year).  Katie just kept asking a MILLION questions like all kids her age I'm sure
- Why is that one red?
- How come that one is bigger than the others?
- Why does that one sparkle like that?
and on and on.........

St. George Getaway

Can't you just hear the Tetris theme song playing now....  Went down to St. George for a quick getaway to pick up some furniture from Robyn.  Able to get it all in just barely.
